Aesop's Fable Friday
The Lion and the Boar
One hot and thirsty day in the height of summer a Lion and a Boar came to a little stream at the very same moment. In a trice they were quarreling as to who should drink first. The quarrel soon became a fight and they attacked one another with utmost fury. Presently, stopping for a moment to take a breath, they saw some vultures seated on a rock above, evidently waiting for one of them to be killed, when they would fly down and feed upon the remains.
The sight sobered them at once, and they made up their quarrel, saying, "We had much better be friends than fight and be eaten by vultures."
Moral of the story: Friendship is a hedge against adversity.
Yeah yeah - so I back dated it - - I was late...

Funny how political parties come to mind and outside forces (i.e. terrorists) come to mind. Not that I would mention any names or country(s).
Didn't think anyone would notice you sneaking this in late did you?
Well, I did... But I was too polite to say anything... until now.
Anyway, good one... We could certainly say this about the Republican Party, or about Western nations as we face Islamofascism.
P.S. HOMESCHOOLER ALERT:

Me too, Alicenot!
Thanks Mike and thanks for your discretion. ;-)
Also thanks for the link about the Belgian homeschoolers. I was happy to see this story on 'Homeschool Buzz'. CH in Texas also left a link to it in my comments and Cubed brought it to my attention as well. Scary. The UN. The EU. We can't allow this in America!
24 minutes and counting to the next Friday Fable...
LOL! Thanks for the reminder Mike. Is it almost Friday ALREADY??!!
I usually put it up Friday evening though. I'll do my best to remember. Grizzly Mama, in addition to being addled for general purposes, is now coping with the additional sun/swim exposure.
