Gathering of Eagles, March 17, Washington DC

Many of the loony lefties will be marching on Washington DC on the 17th of March to protest - oh hell - I'm not sure what they're protesting. Protesting Bush, the war, our troops, Western Civilization, America, Capitalism. The well-knowns will be there: International ANSWER, Mutha Sheehan, 'Jihad' Jane Fonda. The Gathering of Eagles will be there to protect the monuments honoring our fallen in past wars. We will not allow defacement of any of those memorials. We love our men and women in the military and we continue to honor those who died in service to our country.

Troll and I believe that the islamofascist menace must be confronted now, and our boys and girls are out there doing just that. We will be in very good company, as there are hundreds if not thousands of veterans planning to be there, and we are proud to stand with them.

There are two petitions now up online. One for people to sign only if they WILL be at the Gathering of Eagles on March 17th:

GoE will attend.

One for those who are unable to attend but will be there in spirit:

GoE there in spirit.

This will be very helpful in giving the organizers some idea of how many Eagles will be in attendance on the 17th and how many will be supporting us from home.

If you plan to be there, sign in. Those who just can’t attend but stand with us in spirit are asked to sign the second petition.

1035 so far have signed in as attending.

1450 have signed is an with us in spirit.

(as of 1945 Eastern, March9th)

If you encounter problems signing, please persevere and try again later. We need your count!

We will be there with our handy new digital camera and another that we can take videos with. We are driving down early, early Saturday a.m. and will return in the afternoon. The girls are not going because we have seen first hand how violent the 'peace' protesters can be.

God Bless America. God Bless our Troops. God bless our Veterans.

This very important message is brought to you at the expense of Aesop's Fable Friday.

I know you guys will have fun!

We had a small greet-and-meet rally yesterday with the Move America Forward caravan that is making its way to DC. Very inspiring and moving.

I have to work until 5pm today, but will eagerly finish uploading photos and videoclips tonight.

I felt so close to everyone at the rally. There was such a feeling of kinship and unity, like we were all one family with one sole directive and purpose.

When do you guys leave?

Thanks for the online petitions.

Hmmm....the "will not attend" petition link seems to be wrong. Or am I wrong?

It will be interesting, Troll. I'm getting pretty excited.

Word - The petition url was totally messed up. Thanks for pointing that out to me. It's fixed now.

I have been keeping tabs on the caravan and I am so glad that you were able to go to a meet and greet.

We will be leaving at about 4:30 a.m. to drive down on Saturday a.m.

I'll check your blog later tonight to see your photos.

Good luck guys. Have fun. A few years ago Bush came to Appleton or some place close to us and some friends of ours went down to protest against him. You should have seen the crowd. I wasnt there because I was far to pregnant with B and K was to small to take and no one to watch her. But I dont get into the protesting anyway.I am one of those that stands in the back ground and sees who makes a difference. I feel they dont listen anyway so it doesnt matter. I guess I have a hard time with politics. Never really got into it. Tweets. Ps. Interesting though. Let us all know how it turned out when you get home.

Oh, I will Tweetey - I'm going to try my hand at putting some pics up, too.

Troll and I have been to several protests, mainly to counter larger protests that we disagree with. One - in Wash DC - was pretty wild. The 'peace' protesters were violent and obnoxious, and the greenies threw trash all over.

It's a good feeling to get out there and show the world where you stand. It's also a good feeling to stand up to the anti-America crowd.

I just got in, and am now working on it. Whew! I'll probably only post a few of my faves, and then link to an album. I've also got to figure out the videos. One is over the MB amount, for YouTube; so I will have to use my livedigital account.

Anyone have any brilliant ideas for signs?

I wish my burner was working; I would have loved to have given the gold star and blue star parents a copy of my Cindy Sheehan music video.

Oh how I miss a good political protest. If you're up there early enough in the day, wander through my old neighborhood at Eastern Market. They have the old style street market on Saturday.

You can stock up on rotten eggs and squishy tomatoes for later.

Are you suggesting that we might have a use for rotten eggs and squishy tomatoes - later in the day perhaps?!

;-)

Wish you could be there, Mike. We'll tell you all about it, though.

I'm really glad you and Troll get to go! This is the first time in my life I wished I lived closer to Washington D.C.!

Have fun and take lots of pics. I know you will! Stay safe; those "peaceful" people can be dangerous!

Skye - I will email you tomorrow.

Thanks everyone.

We have invited our young friend who returned from Iraq last year. He is going to try to get the day off and ride down with us.

I want to make a sign that says simply 'I Support Victory'.

Cubed here.

Wordsmith,

"I felt so close to everyone at the rally. There was such a feeling of kinship and unity, like we were all one family with one sole directive and purpose."

And you know, this is the sort of "sense of solidarity and common mission" that so many of us have about the whole mess our wonderful country is facing. I can't believe for a minute that when push comes to shove, this sort of spirit will not prevail.

Take lots of pictures and videos, folks, and share them!

Saturday's approaching awfully fast. LOL. Have fun. We are going to my dads house on Saturday instead of Sunday. I will post how it went. It is always fun to be with him. Well enough of that. Dont get jostled to much by other protestors. I think I spelled that right. Oh well if I didnt. Have a great time and enjoy yourself. LOL.

Nightfly - I love the slogan - thank you!

Steve - Thank you. I am getting very excited. I emailed AOW, I will email you tonight with info. too. We'll be meeting up with Sky from midnightbluesays in Virginia and heading for a Metro station. I will be very happy to meet all of you!

Wordsmith - your pics came out great. Thanks so much for all of your support.

Gayle - pics most definitely. Check in at Mike's America during the day. He will be in touch with Skye who will be 'moblogging' (I think it's called..) and he will be updating his blog with all of the dirt. Those 'peace' protesters can get very, very nasty.

Jana - thank you so much for signing the petition in support!

Father Abouna - I am a regular now. lol!

I agree, Cubed. Keep an eye on Mike's America for realtime information!

LMC - I am excited, too. Aren't Mike and Skye something else? Who would have ever thunk of 'moblogging'! It's going to be quite a day.

Tshsmom - thank you - we will be very gentle with Troll. If any of the moonbats attempt to hurt him I believe there will be many to defend him!

Tweetey - no need to worry about spelling here at Grizzly Mama's. We care about what people say, not how they spell it. Although I do believe that you did get it right! You have a great weekend and be sure to check either here or at Mike's America for a rundown of the events.
