American Idol Junkie

This is the first season that I have watched. The girlies and I are completely addicted. Too fun!

We watched the top 12 men perform last night, and the top 12 women perform tonight. Out of the men, for us, it was hands down:

BLAKE!

For the women, it was a toss up for me between:

LAKISHA!

and:

MELINDA!

They are all completely awesome. We loved Sundance at first, but he has totally choked. It's a shame. He needs to stick with singing the blues - he was great at that. Maybe, just maybe, he'll get another chance.

We will find out tomorrow night. Enjoy!

Everyone I've talked with says that Blake is the one to beat among the gentlemen. I saw most of last season but little of this one, so the Ladybug's keeping me up-to-date (thank goodness for TiVo!)... I have to say, I'm disappointed in Ms. Jersey Shore #2. From what I've heard she's singing badly, and what's worse, the spam's hitting the fan about some of her girlish exploits getting posted to the Internet.

My guess is that Ms. Jersey Shore #1 (who was trouble from the first) started that particular ball rolling - ooops, how did that old roll of film wind up on MySpace? The first time I saw those two sing together I KNEW #1 would chuck #2 under the bus if she lasted longer.

I don't watch American Idol, or Canadian Idol for that matter, but my husband's coworker was on the show this year - as one of the really bad singers at the beginning. It was ear-splitting and painful.

Those are my favorites, too! I loved Simon telling them the other 23 might as well pack their bags after LaKisha sang!

Hi I lost my first comment here. I am not into Idol this year. I watched last season and it blew my mind away. I am having a hard time with this year because I dont think any of them are as good as last years. But that is just an opinion.

I mean no one has rocked this place like Chris did last year and Taylor the one that won last years Idol. There were several others. I just dont see the competition as good this year. But its a good show though. Dont get me wrong. LOL... Tweets

Nightfly - there was some catty trash going on there, that's for sure.

Jay - does your husband's coworker actually think that they can sing? I couldn't believe some of the auditions - - really, really BAD.

Jana - I agree. Although Simon is really nasty sometimes, I agree with him about 85% of the time. The girlies seem to just love all of the singers no matter how bad they sound! lol

Tweetey - I know several people who have watched Idol faithfully for years. I never understood it until now. I'm just so totally into it, and me and the girlies have a great time eating ice-cream. We make a list of the singers and put little symbols that represent our judgement of the singer next to each. A star is great. A percent sign is so-so. An X is not good. Lakisha got two stars from all of us!

I can't believe that Sundance made it. That boy better sing some blues for me next week. He CAN sing the blues!

Well I guess we all have our guilty pleasures.

I will admit watching a few minutes of the white trash soap oprea, the "Who gets the rotting beauty queen Anna Nichol Smith's Body" show.

I have to say I am not against any of the ones that are here this year. I just see it as for some reason they arent as well as last years. Some of them have talent and lets hope America picks the right one to make the big bucks. Tweets.

Hey, Grizzly Mama, I too am from Philly and I'm going with the Gathering of Eagles.

I'm also an AI addict, this will be our 4th season watching.

Blake, Lakisha, and Melinda are my favorites, too.

I'll be back often to read what you have to say.

I just noticed your comment, PTBA. Sorry it took so long to notice it. Wish we could have met up down in Wash DC - there were a few of us Philly bloggers there.

Thanks for commenting.
