A Homeschool Brew for Halloween - the 44th Carnival of Homeschooling

Henry and Janine Cate are hosting the Carnival of Homeschooling this week at Why Homeschool. It has a decidedly Halloweenish twist to it. The tricks and the treats of homeschooling. How frightening the thought of homeschooling can be for a parent who has never considered it. The 'Who, Witch, Why, Where, When, and How' of it all.

There is some great reading there, so go check it out. Wonderful job by the Cates - thank you!

We are busy today with our Halloween preparations. The decorations are almost done, the fog machine is working, the face makeup is ready and the costumes MomMom made will be here soon. Oh! We'll be having to do some school, too.

Happy Halloween!

It's snowing and blowing 30mph here. I'm sooo grateful that I don't have to go out trick-or-treating!

dcat - what is a catlitter cake???

tshsmom - we had been contending with a 40 mph north wind here for the last few days. I am SO glad it stopped and we had a very mild evening. Growing up in Denver we had to make sure that our snowsuits fit under our costumes. Either that or your costume was covered up with the winter coat, hat, mittens and muffler. It didn't faze us of course - - but my father who had to walk with us probably had a different opinion of it.

We had a few decortations out, nobody came, not even the little girl downstairs. I've given up on Halloween ever since Goths made it a year-round lifestyle celbrating themselves. They ruined it and stole the fun away and made it as mundane and as boring as they are.

I know dirtcrashr. Our block of rowhouses used to have every house lit up and everyone except for 5 or so houses out there and celebrating. We only had about 10 houses on the block this year. We gave out 85 packs of chips.

The neighborhood is going down the tubes.

We had a great one even if most of the neighbors refused to, Wordsmith. Thanks and I hope that you had a nice one, too.

I am still agog at how stupid Kerry is. lol!
