National Buy Ammo Day - November 19th
Well - it's that time already. Time sure does fly. It is time once again to ensure not only that we retain the right to keep and bear arms, but that we are stocked well up on the ammo! The guns are no good at ALL without the ammo. (I guess you could use them to bludgeon someone...but you get my point.)
According to a commentor on Zendo Deb's blog, 'There is a movement on to purchase the ammo at Wal-Mart on the 19th at 3:30 pm Eastern time or as close to then as possible. I think this was brought about by an investigation of someone who bought a 1000 rds at one time.'
Hmmmmm - an investiGAtion, eh? What's with that? What nefarious, untrustworthy agency is INVESTIGATING someone for lawfully buying ammo??
I am SO THERE at WalMart on the 19th baby. We'll be stocking up. You could, too!

***UPDATE***
Per this forum the WalMart Ammo Buy is 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time. 3:30 p.m. Central etc. Thank you commentor KCMojo.

I have a box of regular 38s and a box of wad cutters but I could go in and applaud the others! 'chuckle'
I think you ought to buy another box, JC. It's for the cause and all that.
You can never have too much ammo - that's my motto!! LOL!
Hummmmm, I can always use some more 9mm hollow point and maybe some 223's
One box ain't enough! Practice just a little and they're gone. What I need is more '06 for the Garand, but the Federal American Eagle stuff is a little hot.
We don't have a WalMart, but if we did, I doubt that they'd have enough ammo left to make it worthwhile. The 19th is the middle of deer season for Pete's sake! ;)
Well - ya don't HAVE to go to WalMart for goodness sake! LOL!
I'm going to buy a FEW boxes of ammo. Never can have too much.
Love the "security mom" graphic.
Volk has some wonderful stuff. And his writing is good too.
JC... Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap
In Wal-Mart is it true that you can buy guns and ammo but it doesn't sell films or videogames (which may contain sex or violence) for 17/18 years olds and over?
I'm not sure Gaffa - it might be true. I've never tried to buy violent pornography at WalMart or anywhere else.
Do you see selling guns and ammo to law abiding citizens as on the same level as selling violent pornography?
It wouldn't surprise me if you do. You have no idea what it's like to be an American I guess. Hunting and shooting - these are things we teach our kids how to do safely.
If we don't teach them how to use guns appropriately we will have an entire nation of gun fearing wussies - sort of like much of Europe. We wouldn't want THAT now! LOL!
Who's talking about violent pornography? It seems ironic that Wal-mart is not so keen on certain movies and videogames which involves guns but are happy to sell guns itself.
But I forget - guns are wholesome and it's not guns that kill people whilst obviously Wal-Mart is here to protect the american family from such things as NUDITY! lol - now that is being a big wussie.
You are the one who brought up violence and pornography - not me.
sheesh.
Hey, I'll tell my dad about this...

While you didn't actually say pornography and violence, it seemed implied.
I believe the difference is that a gun is usually sold after a background check and videos can wind up in a minors hands easier.
I guess Wal-Mart(like the majority of Americans) don't see owning a gun as immoral while teaching minors about sex and violence through video games might be.
It's a judgement thing.
I don't think many, or indeed any, videogames aim to teach sex and violence. It's there to entertain.
Check out the nut, Jack Thompson - who believes because there is nudity in the Sims - this makes it a peodophile's paradise. lol

When you talk adult films Gaffa I assumed porn.
If you are talking 'R' rated - that's a different story. I have no idea if WalMart sells them - or if they do not sell violent video games. I've never tried to purchase those items at WalMart. If I want to purchase those items I have a choice of several hundred stores around me.
Guns are not to be feared - as long as you're trained in the safety of handling guns. This attitude toward guns that I see displayed by the left makes me laugh. What a bunch of weenies.
As far as one man's opinion of Sims - who cares? The old saying applies here: 'Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one and they all stink'. He's allowed to disaprove of Sims. Why does that bother you?
Thank YOU new commentors. I am honored and proud to post about this.
I tried figuring out how to add my WalMart to the list - but it was about 2:00 a.m. my time and I couldn't figure out how to get registered to post on your forum.
We are so THERE on the 19th.
We bought our ammo today. We were a little early - about 4:15. We did it though!!
No wonder WalMart has posted better than expected sales this year - it was all the ammo! LOL!
