The House Is Sold

We settle in a month. We start school in 9 days. Saint Joseph stays in the garden until settlement is complete.

***UPDATE***

OMG. What have we done???! We have nowhere to go! Nothing's packed! I have to start school in a week!

We signed the papers last night, I went to bed, woke up this morning and FREAKED OUT.

Troll is working a million hours at the new job. Most of it's on me. I have to make a plan.

Great News. But Gosh, St. Joseph has to hold his breath for such a long time. Hope he makes it.

I'm glad all the painting, decluttering, and DUSTING paid off!
Have you made an offer on the house in the country?

Great news! I don't envy you all the packing and moving, though!

Hey, guess what? You won my random drawing which I had for naming my blog. Email me with you address and I'll send you the fabulous prizes!

OMG Tweetey - we don't have a place to go. We're going to get a short term lease on a house. Atleast that's our reasoning.

Thanks Bill.

I think it DID pay off, tshsmom. We don't have anywhere to go, yet... We want to wait to make an offer on that house..

Jana - thank you! I'm thrilled that I have won. I was telling my husband the other day that I have never read an Agatha Christy novel. I need to do that! I am totally freaked out about packing and moving - - all the while trying to keep up on school.

Moving is a snap... even if there is no place to go in mind - I have done this any number of times.

Packing is easy, but don't try to go cheap on the supplies if really don't have to.

Buy the boxes from a moving company, don't try to make do with boxes scrounged.

But the clean white newsprint for wrapping dishes. If you use yesterday's newspaper you will have to wash everything when you unpack it.

And buy the heavy duty tape on a roll - much easier. And good pen for marking boxes.

Heavy boxes are killers, etc. etc. etc.

Once stuff is packed in boxes - good dishes, Extra dishes, stuff you don't use everyday - it is easy to see the end of the tunnel.

Best of luck with everything. And take a deep breath - moving is a stressful time. It isn't just you.

Monica,
My heart goes out to you. Mr. AOW and I haven't moved since the day we got married.

Don't sweat the school stuff. Moving itself is an education. Work on math skills related to the move. Have your children keep journals.

Tweetey - it's hard moving. We've been here almost 10 years. My oldest was a toddler and the little one was born here. (Well - not in the house, but, you know what I mean...) I did get your email - thanks and I emailed you back.

Thanks Laura. Do you know that there are 7 boxes in the basement that I have moved many times over the last 20 years and I have never unpacked them? I think I had better see what's in them..

Thank you AOW. We have accumulated a lot of stuff over the last 10 years. I really can't stand moving. The girls are troopers and they have actually packed the contents of their bookshelves already and labeled the boxes. It's going to be an interesting school year. Of course - they all are, as life constantly intrudes upon school. Never once have things gone as planned and never to perfection - but their schooling seems to be working out alright in spite of it all. We now have another homeschooler on the block besides us and the oldest's friend. I always tell them: You can do no worse than they are doing down at that elementary school. It won't be perfect but it will be good. I hope that I can follow my own advice now.

Congrats on selling the crib! I can appreciate how hard it is to sell a house as 3 people on my block have been trying to sell theirs for months now.

I dont know what it is about reading here but everytime I read about homeschooling and your family I get tears down my face. Happy tears Monica. I have found some great friends here and I dont know what I would do without you all sometimes.

Congratulations and good luck! We've been here about 18 years and we're not going anywhere - but it's small and there's no space to accumulate much - still it's a lot of work to pack and move, but a good excuse to buy a pick-up truck! :-)

Grizzly Mama: This may be my last posting.I just want to inform you that yesterdays posting on my blog site may be my last. For some reason, Blogspot has all of a sudden declared by blog as Spam (they claim that someone reported it as such), so as a result they are requiring me to type in word identification every time I want to post, and when I do, it makes me type it in about five times and then screws up my post so that I have to re do it and then go through the hassle of retyping the word identification all over again. I have been trying to contact blogspot directly get that word identification removed. If it isn't removed by Friday, I will be deleting my blog entirely and will no longer do any blogging.

Mr. GG - the housing market around here is insane. People are asking ridiculous amounts of money for their homes and a lot of them stay on the market a long time because of that. Even with all of that, the houses in my neighborhood sell pretty quickly. An end row across the street from us sold in 5 days for more than the asking price - - that kind of stuff. I have a feeling it's all going to correct itself soon. Hopefully not until after we settle! ;-)

Oh - you're a sweetheart, Tweetey!

Thank you Dirtcrashr! Troll sees us moving into the boonies as a very good excuse to finally buy that Harley he's always wanted. lol.

Abouna - I'm so upset about that! I think that happened to someone else - yes! It did. It happened to Sparky in the UK. Apparently people set up 'spam' blogs - and they periodically check blogs, I think randomly, to make sure that they aren't spam blogs. Once he communicated with blogger they set it right. I believe he had the same problems communicating with them that you are having now. This was over a year ago that he went through it. The blogs that don't attempt to reply to them - they delete. I hope that you don't stop blogging. (Unless you want to and are ready to...) I will miss you terribly if that happens.
