Yes - well - you captured our feeling of extreme overheating in this furnace that we call the City of Brotherly Love.

LOL!

Love the picture of everbody on the way to the pool. Oklahoma is HOT and sometimes humid. I was raised in Ohio. The only place I found that was worse than Columbus on a BAD SUMMER DAY was the Nam in rainy season. 110% humiddity and then came the rain, which was a bit like diving into a vertical lake.

Thanx for the note on the MacArthur post. The link leads to the whole speech. You might want to use it in a history lesson sometime.

It worked on my kids.

I didn't trust public schools - the kids went, but we had an added home curriculum...

Kermit thanks.

I agree that if kids are being sent to public school then parents HAVE to be extra vigilant. I remember the old man just bellowing, 'That's a load of bullshit!' when sharing something I had learned that day in school! LOL! It's worse these days, too. Atleast I came out of it reading and understand basic concepts of science, a bit of higher math. Zilch on history, though. All history for me was learned as an adult - and still learning.

I sent a link to your blog entry to my friend in Iraq.

Philly sucks in the summer - but not as bad as Vietnam OR Baghdad. In Baghdad 'it's a dry heat', though. ;-)
